We meet at 9.30am at The Warren, Epping Forestís City of London headquarters.
This can only be accessed from the Epping New Road between the Warren Wood pub and
the Robin Hood roundabout. We aim to leave for the site promptly at 9.45am. If you intend to go straight to the site
it is essential that you inform the task leader in advance, so that we can bring enough tools and equipment for everyone.
Let the task leader know if you will need a lift to the site.
Wear old clothes and sturdy boots (preferably reinforced), and bring refreshments. Hard hats, gloves and waders will be provided.
On Sundays, we usually return to the Warren at about 3.30pm; mid-week tasks tend to finish a little earlier. Help with putting away the tools is always appreciated Ė please donít always leave this to the same people.
Don't know what to wear? A pair of old jeans and a t-shirt will be fine in summer, just add jumpers and waterproofs in winter and sturdy boots according to the season. If we are clearing bramble or thorns then long sleeves and trousers are best and we provide gloves and eye protection. Just make sure you are not going to get too hot/cold/wet and that you are not going to worry if the clothes don't come up totally clean in the wash.
Other than that, all you need to bring is yourself, a packed lunch and drink, as unlike many groups of our type, we do not have brewing facilities. We provide tools, gloves and safety equipment.
Please do not worry if you cannot join us for the whole day. We would love to see you and you can make a valuable contribution to the day's work.
We cannot cater for children under the age of 12 years and can only accept those between the ages of 12 and 14 if accompanied by a responsible adult. In addition young people between the ages of 15 and 17 years must produce a letter of consent from their parent or guardian prior to joining us on tasks.
