Next Task – Long Running – Sunday 26th May 2013

Don’t worry - we won’t be doing a marathon ! Our task will be to remove small birch together with some holly on the eastern side of Long running with the aim of increasing the heathland area. The site is on the left hand side of the Centenary ride as you go up from the car park. We will be stacking the brash to await chipping by the City of London team. Ground conditions are fairly dry and thus sturdy shoes or boots should suffice. NOTE : the City of London have now secured the rear access to the Warren and thus there is no vehicle entry to be gained from the Warren Road side of the premises. Arrangements have therefore been made to allow access via the front gate on the Epping New Road which will be manned to allow entry from approximately 9.15 a.m. Meet at The Warren, Loughton at 9.45 a.m. then to parking in Jacks Hill car park. [Due to the Bank holiday these car parks are likely to be busy so it is suggested that you park in either one] (GR : TQ 435996) If you intend going direct to the site could you PLEASE, PLEASE notify the leaders IN ADVANCE so that sufficient provision is made for enough safety equipment and tools etc. Task leaders : Kevin Mason 020 8529 9273
