Next Task – Jericho Plain – Sunday 21st January 2018

Clearly, we won’t be attacking the walls here!

This will be the first of two consecutive tasks at this location. The work will involve thinning saplings as part of the Higher Level Stewardship wood pasture restoration plan for the area. We will also be involved in creating some new pollards. The waste material will be stacked to await chipping by the City of London team whilst any larger logs will be used to form habitat piles. Ground conditions may be muddy in places and thus waterproof boots or reinforced wellingtons are recommended.

NOTE : the City of London have now secured the rear access to the Warren and thus there is no vehicle entry to be gained from the Warren Road side of the premises. Arrangements have therefore been made to allow access via the front gate on the Epping New Road which will be manned to allow entry by vehicles from approximately 9.15a.m. When attending the tool store it is mandatory for all visitors that hi-vis vests be worn for personal safety.

MEET at The Warren, Loughton at 9.30 a.m. then to considerate parking Knighton Lane, Buckhurst Hill. (GR : TQ409937)

If you intend going direct to the site could you PLEASE, PLEASE notify the leaders IN ADVANCE so that sufficient provision is made for enough safety equipment and tools etc.
